Our Sixth Form Students Gain
Insight into Finance at NFU Mutual
Ten Sixth Form students studying A-Level Maths and/or Economics enjoyed an
inspiring half-day visit to NFU Mutual’s offices to explore careers in investments.
They gained valuable insights into the finance sector and even tried their hand at
managing a practice portfolio.
The event, part of NFU Mutual’s drive to tackle the under-representation of women
in finance, highlighted their commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion within
the industry.
Sixth Form student Raveena reflected on the experience:
“ The most eng aging p ar t of the da y was p ar ticip ating in a mo del sto ck investor comp etition. We
analysed sto ck prices, P/E ratios, and the current state of comp anies to make investment decisions.
It was b oth challenging and re warding and I’m thrilled to share that I won a troph y at the end of it!
This was undoubtedly the highlight of m y da y and a moment I’ll alwa ys rememb er.
This exp erience has le f t me feeling more conf ident and excited ab out m y f uture career p athwa y.
I’m p ar ticularly drawn to the intersection of f inance and law, as I b elie ve it of fers unique
opp or tunities to work in areas like corp orate law, f inancial regulation, or investment management .
