SGGSSUCCESS
To celebrate National Poetry Day on
October 3rd, students in Years 7, 8
and 9 took part in an exciting poetry
recitation competition on the theme of
“Counting.” Each student had the
opportunity to perform their chosen
poem in front of their whole class,
showcasing their confidence,
creativity, and interpretation skills.
From these class rounds, four winners
from each Year Group were selected
to compete in the Grand Final, held in
the school library. The atmosphere
was electric as a packed audience of
students and staff gathered to support
the finalists.
All the performances were
mesmerising and expressive, with
students bringing the poems to life in
unique and powerful ways. Their
delivery reflected not only their
understanding of the words but also
their ability to engage and captivate an
audience.
The judges were impressed by the
high standard of all the finalists and
commended their courage in
performing to such a large and
enthusiastic crowd.
